PasteFX Privacy Policy
PasteFX is built around a local-first privacy model: copied text, workflow results, Library items, prompts, settings, and clipboard history are processed on your Windows device by the app.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how RelayWorks, LLC handles information for PasteFX, the PasteFX Windows app, and pastefx.com.
2. Clipboard and workflow content
PasteFX does not upload clipboard text, clipboard history, Library items, workflows, workflow results, Quick Expand content, selected-text captures, prompts, or default workflow output to RelayWorks servers. PasteFX does not send that content to hosted AI services, analytics services, advertising services, or cloud sync services.
3. Local app storage
PasteFX stores certain information locally on your device so the app can function:
- clipboard history and pinned entries, subject to your settings and sensitive-data safeguards;
- Library items, reusable workflows, workflow recipes, triggers, and promptable variables;
- app settings, theme, hotkeys, section state, onboarding status, and EULA acceptance version/date;
- local-only diagnostic, license visibility, and onboarding counters displayed inside the app;
- trial, license, or paid access state used to determine Free, Trial, or Pro access.
PasteFX stores this information in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PasteFX. Microsoft Store updates and uninstall/reinstall cycles intentionally leave that folder in place so local data, the protected installation identity, and protected license state remain available. PasteFX does not use this behavior to retain data outside its own folder.
To permanently remove the retained data, first deactivate an active Pro device while online and create a database backup if wanted. Then exit and uninstall PasteFX and delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\PasteFX in File Explorer. Deleting the folder removes local app data and the protected device identity; a later reinstall may require license recovery and activation.
4. Sensitive content safeguards
PasteFX includes local safeguards intended to prevent likely sensitive clipboard content, such as private keys, API/token patterns, JWT-like values, and high-entropy password-like strings, from being stored in clipboard history. These safeguards are local and conservative, but no automated detection is perfect.
5. Telemetry, analytics, and advertising
PasteFX does not include usage telemetry, analytics SDKs, behavioral tracking, advertising SDKs, or background reporting of copied text or app behavior to RelayWorks.
6. Support communications
If you email support, we receive the email address and information you choose to include. Do not send passwords, private keys, API secrets, financial information, health information, or private clipboard content unless specifically necessary and requested for support. We use support messages to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, improve documentation, and maintain support records.
7. Purchases, licensing, and activation
PasteFX Pro purchases are intended to route through pastefx.com and the checkout provider shown at checkout. The checkout provider may process information needed for payment, tax/VAT, receipts, invoices, refunds, chargebacks, and related commerce operations, such as purchase email, billing details, transaction identifiers, purchase status, and refund status. The licensing provider used by PasteFX may process information needed for license issuance, validation, activation limits, recovery, suspension, or revocation, such as license keys, purchase/license identifiers, activation/device identifiers, license status, and app/license metadata. If PasteFX is distributed through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may process Store account, installation, delivery, and update information under Microsoft’s policies. PasteFX clipboard content, Library items, workflows, prompts, selected-text captures, and workflow results are not sent to payment, licensing, or distribution providers by the app.
8. Website data
When you visit pastefx.com, website hosting, DNS, security, and infrastructure providers may process basic request information such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, time, and security logs needed to serve and protect the website. PasteFX does not use intentional advertising cookies or behavioral analytics cookies on these legal/support pages.
9. Children
PasteFX is a productivity tool for general users and is not directed to children under 13. Do not use PasteFX to intentionally provide RelayWorks with children’s personal information.
10. Security
PasteFX uses local app storage and license safeguards designed for a local-first desktop app. You remain responsible for the security of your Windows account, device, backups, clipboard content, and files exported from PasteFX.
11. Retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it through app controls or remove %LOCALAPPDATA%\PasteFX. Microsoft Store uninstall/reinstall does not by itself remove this retained folder. Support email records may be retained as needed for support history, legal compliance, security, and business records.
12. Your choices
You can control PasteFX behavior through app settings, including history capacity, privacy-facing settings, clipboard monitor state, global hotkey controls, Library management, and local data deletion where available. You can request support by emailing support@pastefx.com.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as PasteFX changes. Material privacy changes will be reflected on this page and, when appropriate, in the app or Store/direct-download metadata.
14. Contact
Privacy questions can be sent to support@pastefx.com.
